In exercise of the powers conferred
by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution and in supersession of the Mizoram Public Health
Engineering Department (Group ‘A’ posts) Recruitment Rules, 2009 notified in the Mizoram Gazette
extraordinary issue number 213 dated 27.06.2008 except as respects things done or omitted to be done
before such supersession, the Governor of Mizoram hereby makes the following rules regulating the
method of recruitment and the conditions of service of the post of Chief Chemist and Senior Chemist
under Public Health Engineering Department, Government of Mizoram namely :-

Terms of Reference:
1. The Chairperson and the Members of the Search Committee shall hold office from the date of
appointment and shall be eligible for re-appointment. The Selection Committee may, where it is
of the view that the continuance of a member of the Search committee is not expedient in the
public interest, after giving him an opportunity of being heard, remove such member before the
expiry of his term as per Rule 3 of the Mizoram Lokayukta Rules, 2016.
2. The Search Committee shall cease to exist after submitting its recommendation as per Rule 3 of
the Mizoram Lokayukta (Amendment) Rules, 2024.
3. A member of the Search Committee shall be entitled to a sitting fee of Rs. 1500/- for each day for
attending the meeting of the Search Committee as per sub-rule (1) of Rule 4 of the Mizoram
Lokayukta Rules, 2016.
4. A member of the Search Committee shall be entitled to a Travelling Allowance and daily allowance
as are admissible to a Secretary to the Govt. of Mizoram for attending the meeting of the Search
Committee as per sub-rule (2) of Rule 4 of the Mizoram Lokayukta Rules, 2016.

India as follows, namely:-
1. Short Title, Extent and Commencement.-
(1) This Act may be called the Mizoram Lokayukta (Amendment) Act, 2024
(2) It shall have the like extent as the Principal Act.
(3) It shall come into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Amendment to section 3.-
In sub-section (3), the following clause shall be added-
“(c) A person appointed as Chairperson or Member of Lokayukta shall, before entering upon his
office, make and subscribe before the Governor, an oath or affirmation in the form as prescribed/
set out in the Schedule”.
3. Amendment to section 4.-
(1) In sub-section (3), the following second proviso shall be added-
