to be notified on 20.03.2024, 28.03.2024, 12.04.2024, 18.04.2024, 26.04.2024,29.04.2024 and 07.05.2024,

Approves the design of EVMs and VVPAT Printers
Whereas, Section 61A of the Representation of the People
Act, 1951, provides that the giving and recording of votes by voting machines in such manner as may be
prescribed, may be adopted in such constituency or constituencies as the Election Commission of India
may, having regard to the circumstances of each case, specify;
2. Whereas, as per the proviso to Rule 49A of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, a printer with a
drop box of such design, as may be approved by the Election Commission of India, may also be attached
to voting machine for printing a paper trail of the vote, in such constituency or constituencies or parts
thereof as the Election Commission of India may direct;
3. Whereas, the Election Commission has considered the circumstances in all the Parliamentary
Constituencies of Lok Sabha, all the Assembly Constituencies of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal
Pradesh, Odisha & Sikkim at the current general elections, 2024 and in 26 Assembly Constituencies
(as per Annexure-1) in 13 States at the current bye-elections, announced vide the Election
Commission’s Press Notes No. ECI/PN/23/2024 & ECI/PN/24/2024 both dated 16th, March 2024,
and is satisfied that sufficient number of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Printers for printing
Paper Trail [Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail(VVPAT)] are available for taking the poll in all the
Parliamentary Constituencies and all the Assembly Constituencies of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh,
Odisha and Sikkim and in 26 Assembly Constituencies (as per Annexure-1) of 13 States. The polling
personnel are well trained in efficient handling of EVMs and ‘VVPAT Printers’ and the electors are
also fully conversant with the operation of the EVMs and the VVPAT Printers;
4. Now, therefore, the Election Commission of India, in exercise of its powers under the said Section

Whereas, the schedule for the General Elections to Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha & Sikkim, 2024 and bye- election to 25 Assembly Constituencies in 12 States (as per annexure-1) as announced by the Election Commission vide Press Notes No. ECI/PN/23/2024 and No. ECI/PN/24/2024 both dated 16th March 2024 read with Press Note No. ECI/PN/32/2024 dated 27th March, 2024.
2. Whereas, Section 126A of The Representation of the People Act, 1951 (in short R.P. Act, 1951) specifies that “(I) No person shall conduct any exit poll and publish or publicise by means of the print or electronic media or disseminate in any other manner, whatsoever, the result of any exit poll during such period, as may be notified by the Election Commission in this regard.
(2) For the purposes of sub-section (1), the Election Commission shall, by a general order, notify the date and time having due regard to the following, namely: —
(a) in case of a general election, the period may commence from the beginning of the hours fixed for poll on the first day of poll and continue till half an hour after closing of the poll in all the States and Union territories:
(b) In case of a bye-election or a number of bye-elections held together, the period may commence from the beginning of the hours fixed for poll on and from the first day of poll and continue till half an hour after closing of the poll;

rovided that in case of a number of bye-elections held together on different days, the period may commence from the beginning of the hours fixed for poll on the first day of poll and continue till half an hour after closing of the last poll.
(3) Any person who contravenes the provisions of this section shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine or with both.”
3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers under sub-Section (1) of Section 126A of the R.P. Act,

Secondary School Leaving Certificate bearing Roll No.1402000004 and recorded as Lalchhanhimi
in my Voter ID bearing No.RHE0055178 and Birth Certificate bearing Registration No.746/96.
