The following Act of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly, which received the assent of the Governor of Mizoram is hereby published for general information. The Mizoram Liquor Total Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2013 (Act No. 8 of 2013) {Received the assent of the Governor of Mizoram on the 23rd July, 2013}. AN ACT to fu rther amend the Mizoram Liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1995 (herein referred to as the Principal Act) and to make the Act more effective in its implementation. It is enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Mizor am in the Sixty fourth year of the Republic of India a s follows :-Short title, extend 1.1) This Act may be called the Mizoram Liquor Total Prohibition (Amendment) a nd commencement Act, 2013. 2) It shall ha ve the like ext ent as the Principal Act. 3) It s ha ll come into for ce from their pub lication in the Mizor am Gazette. Amendment of 2.After sub-s ection (2) of section 5 of the Principal Act , a new sub-section section 5. (3) shall be added, namely :- “ (3 ) the State Government may appoint an officer or a class of officers in the Excise & Narcot ics Depa rtment a nd Police Depar tment a s expert for the purpose of analysis or examina tion of alcoholic liquor”. Amendment of 3.In section 24 of the Principle Act, for the words “knowingly permits,” the section 24 words, “unless he satisfactorily proved that he did not know” shall be substituted. The Mizoram (Pension for Members of the Defunct Mizo District Council and of the Defunct P awi- Lakher Regional Council) (Amendment) Act, 2013. (Act No. 9 of 2013) {Received the assent of the Governor of Mizoram on the 25th July, 2013}. AN ACT to a mend the Mizora m (Pension for Members of the Defunct Mizo District Council and of the Defunct Pawi-Lakher Regional Council) Act, 1994 (Act No. 7 of 1994) (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act) It is enact ed by t he Mizoram Legislative Assembly in the Sixty four th year of the Republic of India as follows :-Short title, extend 1.1) This Act may be called the Mizoram (Pension for Members of the a nd commencement Defunct Mizo District Council and of the Defunct Pawi-Lakher Regional Council) (Amendment) Act, 2013. 2) It shall come into force from the date of publication in the Mizoram Gazette. Whereas it appears to the appropriate Government (Hereinafter referred to as the Government of Mizoram) that the land specified in the schedule there-to (hereinaft er refer red to as the “ said la nd”) is likely to be needed for public purpose viz., Acquisition of land for constr uction of roads under Mizora m State Roads-II Project. 1.Now, therefore, the Government hereby notifies under sub-section (i) of section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Central Act of 1894) hereinafter referred to as the said Act that the said la nd is likely to b e needed for the purpose specified ab ove. 2.Any person interested in any land being notified may submit his/her objection to the acquisition in writ ing to the SLAO, Project Implementation Unit, PWD within a period of 30 da ys from the date of publication of this Notification in the Mizoram Gazette, who will dispose of the objection and claims as per provision of section 5-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894. 3.All persons interested in the said land are hereby warned not to obstruct or interfere with any Surveyor or other persons employed upon the sa id land for the purpose of the said acquisition.
