by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution and in supersession of the Mizoram Jail Department
(Group ‘A’ post) Recruitment Rules, 1994 notified in the Mizoram Gazette Extraordinary Issue number
175 dated 06.10.1994 and the Mizoram Jail Department (Group ‘A’ post) Recruitment Rules, 1998 notified
in the Mizoram Gazette Extraordinary Issue number 190 dated 06.11.1998 except as respect things done
or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Governor of Mizoram hereby makes the following
rules regulating the method of recruitment and the conditions of service of the posts of Deputy Inspector
General of Prisons and Assistant Inspector General of Prisons/Special Superintendent of Jails under
Home (Prisons) Department, Government of Mizoram namely :-

Section 3 read with Section 13 of the Minimum Wages Act, (1948 No. XI of 1948), the Governor of
Mizoram is pleased to revise the minimum rates of wages for the workers employed in the Scheduled
Employment of “various daily waged employees” under the Government Departments, Semi-Government
Organization, Public Undertakings, Private Undertakings and on Contract basis as shown below with effect
from 1 st April, 2023.

No. K.15011/141(a)/2018-REV, the 6 th June, 2023. Whereas the land area covering
"Bawngkawn Brigade Area” Aizawl which covers both the Phase - I area comprising of Block - I to Block
- VII and the Phase - II area comprising of Block - VIII and Block - IX has been declared as reserved for
special purposes and for public use such as, establishment of hospital, public utility and other public amenities
vide Notification No. C. 18016/39/2001-REV dt. 30.07.2013.
And whereas the Council of Ministers in its meeting on the 4 th June, 2018 decided to lift the
reservation of the land area under the said Phase - II area, Notification No. K. 15011/141/2018-REV/Vol-
I/10 dt.2 nd August, 2018 lifting the reservation in the Phase - II area of Bawngkawn Brigade Area was
issued.
And whereas the Council of Ministers in its meeting on the 18 th May, 2023 has decided to lift the
reservation of land under the said Phase - I area of Bawngkawn Brigade Area as the land within Block - I
area has already been allotted to Govt. J. Thankima College thus fulfilling the purpose of the reservation
and the land within Block - II to Block - VII has not been allotted for any project.
Now, therefore, the Governor of Mizoram, in the interest of public is pleased to hereby cancel the
reservation of land within Phase - I area of Bawngkawn Brigade Area with immediate effect.
